The company is looking for a technology development partner to further develop its product design algorithm to manage the complexity in its raw material and help it continuously to refine its blends and improve its product quality across several side streams.

Description

The company is a Danish organic food and beverage brand, founded in 2018 in Copenhagen by a woman entrepreneur, which has now grown to 17 staff, offering new and exciting food and flavours from up- cycled brewer s spent grains. The company is disrupting the food system by upcycling spent beer grains into new food ingredients using a sustainable model. Every year 200 billion litres of beer are produced globally, which results in the co-production of masses of spent grains as a by-product of the process. These spent grains are high in fibre and protein, meaning they can be used as healthy food ingredients instead of going to waste. Traditionally, spent grain is considered waste and is often discarded. The company transforms this nutrient-rich by-product into flour, which can be used to produce a variety of food products such as bread, crackers, and snacks. This process not only reduces waste but also adds value to the food supply chain by creating new, nutritious ingredients. It is estimated that 1kg of high fibre, high protein super grain flour emits 30% less CO2 than producing 1kg of Danish wheat flour.

In order to accelerate their expansion, the company is looking for a technology development company, which can develop and refine an algorithm to allow faster and more accurate product development, taking into account the complexities of ingredients, blending and chemical food processes. The target company is likely to have significant experience and knowledge from the food industry, and create an algorithm with self-learning potential.
